Snake Identifier Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026 • Developer: Dipankar Das Shovon / SB Apps
This policy applies to Snake Identifier (com.sbapps.identifier.snake). Contact sbapps.publish@gmail.com with privacy questions or data deletion requests.
AI processing and your permission
Before the first AI request, the app asks permission to share your selected photo, questions, relevant chat history and identification context through Google Firebase with OpenAI. This data is used to generate educational identifications and answers. Do not include sensitive personal details. Declining AI sharing leaves saved history, collections and built-in guides available. You can withdraw permission for future requests in Settings → Turn Off AI Sharing. Withdrawal cannot recall data already sent.
Photo identification is an estimate and cannot confirm whether a snake is safe to handle. If a bite is suspected, contact emergency services; do not rely on this app to select treatment.
Information used by the app and service providers
- Photos and user content: Only a selected photo is sent for analysis. Follow-up questions, bounded relevant chat history and identification context are sent for answers. The app does not upload your entire photo library.
- Identifiers and service information: Firebase creates a background anonymous account without an interactive login. Anonymous app identifiers, App Check/device attestation, network information and usage counters help authenticate requests, prevent abuse and enforce allowances.
- Purchases: Apple and RevenueCat process subscription purchases and restoration. Product identifiers, transaction evidence, subscription status and app identifiers support entitlement verification. Purchase evidence is verified through Firebase and Apple, and is not sent to OpenAI as part of the AI prompt. Apple handles payment details.
- Analytics: Google Firebase Analytics receives app/device identifiers, app version and automatic app-interaction information to understand app usage. The app does not include advertising or request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- Local history: Scan photos, generated results, collections and saved conversations are stored on your device. Use the app's history/collection controls to remove saved items. Device backups may retain local data under your device settings.
Retention and security
The Firebase AI backend does not persist input photos or question text. It stores generated responses in a private retry cache with a ten-minute expiry. Firestore expiry cleanup is asynchronous, so physical deletion may occur later. Token hashes have expiry cleanup; raw App Check tokens are not stored by the application backend. Anonymous account, usage, entitlement and security records may remain as needed to operate the service and prevent abuse. Platform providers may retain operational/security metadata.
OpenAI processes API data under its API data controls. API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default. Default abuse-monitoring retention may be up to 30 days, with exceptions described in that policy. The app does not promise zero retention by third-party providers. Data is sent over HTTPS; no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may decline or withdraw AI sharing, manage camera/photo permissions in iOS Settings, delete local history, and manage subscriptions through your Apple account. Withdrawing AI sharing or deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. For service-side access/deletion requests, contact the address above; we may need information to locate your anonymous app record without requesting your private credentials. Records required for legal obligations or fraud prevention may be retained.
Service providers and international processing
The app uses Google Firebase, OpenAI, RevenueCat and Apple. Processing may occur outside your country. We use these services to operate the app, verify subscriptions and protect the service. We do not sell your personal information or use AI inputs for advertising.
Children and updates
The app is not a Kids Category service. Parents or guardians should supervise children's use and avoid sending children's personal information. Contact us if you believe such information has been submitted. We may update this policy when the app or its service providers change; the revision date above identifies the current policy.
